FATHER AND DAUGHTER JOIN MU BOARD

Neal Tanner and his daughter, Angela, recently agreed to sit on the University of Missouri School of Health Related Professions Alumni Organization Board in Columbia.

Both graduated from the school, Neal Tanner in 1971 and Angela Tanner in 1995, and both are physical therapists in Cape Girardeau.

The father works at HealthSouth Inc. He said he decided to try physical therapy as a career after a stint in the U.S. Army Reserves, when he often worked in the cast room of a hospital.

His daughter works in pediatrics at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

"I graduated from the school, and I thought I should give something back to my program and the university," Neal Tanner said.

"I support my profession, and this is a small way for me to be active," Angela Tanner added.
