SIKESTON -- Nine farmers in three counties have been selected to participate in a national farm financial survey, according to the Missouri Agricultural Statistics Service in Columbia.

Glenn W. Barks of Sikeston will be calling on the farmers in Stoddard, Bollinger and Cape Girardeau counties this month and next, asking for their cooperation in the seventh annual Farm Costs and Returns Survey.

Barks will be collecting data on farm expenses, finances, capital purchases and cost of production for 1990. the information will be used to assess the economic well-being of different sizes and types of farms in different parts of the country.

Individual questionnaires will be strictly confidential, Glenn said. Once all the summary data is fed into computers, all questionnaires will be destroyed.
