Farm & Home Savings will hold its second annual "Family Week" celebration April 27-May 2.

The celebration will honor past and future generations of families that bank with the firm. Activities, prize drawings and refreshments will highlight the event, which will be held during normal business hours at the Cape Girardeau branch office, 211 Silver Springs Road.

In recognition of Family Week, $100 will be given to the drive to acquire a Cape Girardeau Public Library Bookmobile.

"The bookmobile program will serve hundreds of area residents who otherwise cannot receive library service due to distance from the librarian and/or lack of transportation," said Karen Rigdon, branch manager.

April 29 has been designated "Senior Day" to honor senior citizens. "Family Day" will be observed May 2, with several activities on tap, including storytelling and face-painting for children. Other activities include clown performances, free fingerprinting by the Cape Girardeau Police Department and a fire truck display by the Cape Girardeau Fire Department.

A contest for "funniest photo" also will be held during the week. Photo entries will be accepted at the branch.

"Family Week is our tribute to the tradition of the family," said Rigdon. "We encourage everyone in the community present customers and new friends we have yet to meet to stop by during the week and share the celebration with us."

Farm & Home Savings is the principal subsidiary of Farm & Home Financial Corp., a $3.5 billion holding company. Farm & Home, headquartered in Nevada, Mo., was established in 1893, and has 48 branch offices and 10 agency offices in Missouri, Texas and Kansas.
