Farm & Home Savings will observe its annual "Apple Week" starting Monday.

"In observance of the special week we'll be donating apple juice, apple sauce and other food items to the Fish Food Pantry next week," said Karen Rigdon, branch manager of the Cape Girardeau Farm & Home facility at 211 Silver Springs Road. Craig Nessan, president of FISH, will receive the food items at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the local branch.

Farm & Home will also provide three $50 savings bonds to the top three finishers of the Cape Girardeau Bicentennial Queen contest, and will make a donation to the Cape River Heritage Museum, which will display items from the late 1890s throughout the week.

Apple Week is a long-standing tradition to honor the founding of Farm & Home Savings, and to thank customers for banking with Farm & Home.

"We'll be celebrating the week Monday through Saturday with various activities, including an apple decorating contest," said Rigdon. "Our employees will wear historical costumes Friday.

"Our customers and the community are invited to visit our branch and help us celebrate Apple Week," said Rigdon. "This occasion marks our entrance into our 100th year of serving the banking needs of families."
