Troy Denning, a fantasy novelist and game designer, will speak at 7 p.m. Friday, April 12, in the University Center Ballroom.
Students and the general public are invited to attend the free lecture. Denning will sign books afterward.
Denning is working on his 13th fantasy novel. He is best-known as the author of the premiere novel series in TSR's Dark Sun campaign world, "The Prism Pentad." Books in that series include "The Verdant Passage," "The Crimson Legion," "The Amber Enchantress," "The Obsidian Oracle" and "The Cerulean Storm."
He also has designed more than 50 games, game-books and accessories for the role-playing industry, including Black Morn Manor and an easy-to-learn version of Basic Dungeons & Dragons.
A graduate of Beloit College in Beloit, Wis., Denning became an editor at TSR, the company that publishes the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game.
Denning also will meet with creative writing classes at Southeast.
