The Southeast Missouri Ballet Theatre will perform "The Fantastic Toy Shop" Nov. 28 at Academic Auditorium.
The ballet, an updated version of Rossini-Respighi's classic, "The Magic Toy Shop," will be performed at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
The performance lasts about one hour and is meant for the holiday enjoyment of children and families.
The ballet takes place in a toy shop about 1865. The dolls plot to keep themselves from being separated by customers who want to split them up.
The cast will be composed of students from the School of American Ballet from New York City. Performing with them will be 30 local dancers ranging in ages from 8-15 and adults.
Reserved tickets are $5 for lower seating and $7 for the balcony. Tickets are available at the Academy of Dance Arts, 2254 Kingshighway. Phone 334-7154 for information.
