An exhibit of fans and baskets, illustrating a range of woven structures and created in natural materials, opens today at the Southeast Missouri State University Museum.

The exhibit, titled "Move the Air, Catch the Wind: Fans and Baskets from the Collection" will be presented through Aug. 29 at the University Museum Gallery in Memorial Hall.

The exhibit, chosen from the museum's holdings, includes handcrafted, traditional pieces representing the American Ozarks, the American Native Southwest, the Philippines, Japan, Korea and Africa.

Exhibit hours are 1-5 p.m. on Sundays and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Admission is free. Reserved museum parking is available in front of Memorial Hall on the circle drive off of North Pacific Street.
