The family of missing woman Jacque Sue Waller is now offering a reward to anyone who gives authorities information that leads to Waller or an arrest in connection with her disappearance.
Waller's family also recently opened a fund for Waller's triplets. Donations to the "Jacque Waller Family Fund" can be made at any US Bank location. A link to donate to the Jacque Waller reward fund will appear on the "Find Jacque S. Waller" Facebook page, which has been "liked" by more than 4,300 people. Donations to the reward fund can also be made at any US Bank branch.
Cheryl Brenneke, Jacque Waller's sister, said police suggested the family offer a reward.
"Maybe money will shake something up. Somebody knows something, they just do," Brenneke said.
The search for Waller, missing from Jackson since June 1, is still active and in the hands of the Jackson Police Department, whose chief said Tuesday they've named no new people of interest in connection with the woman's disappearance.
Although the department still suspects foul play, there is no evidence a crime has been committed. The missing mother of three was last seen by Clay Waller, her estranged husband, who was named June 6 by the Cape Girardeau/Bollinger County Major Case Squad as the only person of interest in the case, but not a criminal suspect.
The case squad disbanded Friday after helping generate around 200 leads in Waller's disappearance. As officers continue to check into those leads, Jackson police chief James Humphreys said they're still waiting on evidentiary items to come back from a crime lab. They're also adjusting to only a few people working the case after the more than 30 who were initially investigating the disappearance.
"It's hard on you, but, we're trying to get everything caught up on -- reports, paperwork, things of that nature," he said.
Police continue to seek details on Jacque Waller's whereabouts following her visit to Clay Waller's home. An increased search and rescue effort could be put into place once investigators have those details, Humphreys said.
"We haven't got anything as far as a great lead or anything real substantial yet. The community's response has been just awesome so far in helping us get the word out, but we still hope to generate something new," Humphreys said.
