The family of the late Russell J. Michel recently announced the establishment of a $10,000 challenge grant as part of the Southeast Missouri University Foundation's capital campaign.
Mrs. Elnora B. Michel and her sons, John and Mark, have made a $10,000 pledge to a mathematics scholarship bearing her name and that of her husband, who was chairman of the mathematics department at Southeast for many years.
The pledge specifies that every dollar given to the Russell and Elnora Michel Mathematics Scholarship Fund will be matched by the Michel family, up to a total of $10,000.
Those interested in making a contribution to the fund may send a check, payable to the Southeast Missouri University Foundation, to: Melanie Murray, director of annual giving, Southeast Missouri State University, One University Plaza, Cape Girardeau, Mo., 63701. For more information, she may be contacted at (314) 651-2252.
