CHARLESTON, Mo. -- A family was trapped for a short time in a mobile home when a tree fell on it during a tornado in Wyatt, Mo., the Mississippi County sheriff's office said.

No one was seriously injured in the storm. A boy who was trapped in the trailer suffered scratches but was not hospitalized.

Wyatt is about five miles east of Charleston in Mississippi County.

That home was destroyed and several other mobile homes in the area also were damaged by the tornado, the sheriff's office said.

The tornado capped a week of unusual weather in Southeast Missouri, beginning with record high temperatures on April 14 and ending with tornado warnings, golf-ball sized hail and flood warnings.

A funnel cloud was spotted near Advance, Mo., but that storm passed on without touching ground.
