Fake officer pulls over woman in Jefferson County

IMPERIAL, Mo. (AP) -- Jefferson County police are warning drivers about a man posing as a police officer.

The fake officer pulled over a 21-year-old female driver early Tuesday in Imperial. The woman told KMOV-TV that she thought the man was driving a real police car because the vehicle had a blue flashing light on the dashboard.

The man allegedly told the motorist she was speeding but that he would let her off with a warning. He never showed any identification.

Police are searching for a white man with brown hair who is believed to be driving a spray-painted black car.
