FABICK BROTHERS PROCEED ON NEW NASH ROAD FACILITY

Fabick Brothers, which provides a full line of construction and heavy equipment -- dozers, backhoes, high-lifts -- and agriculture equipment, will hold a grand opening at its new facility in Nash Road Industrial Park early next month.

"We're in the process of remodeling and equipping the new store," says Jim Below, who will serve as branch manager of both the Sikeston and Cape Girardeau stores.

The new store, about 10,000 square feet of shop, display space, bays, counter area and parts warehouse, and 2,000 square feet in office space, is at 3033 Nash Road East. The facility also includes outside display space.

"This is our second store in the immediate Southeast Missouri area," said Below.

Fabick, headquartered at Fenton, has operated a store at Sikeston since 1941.

Grand opening at the newest store will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 6.

The new, full-service, store, which will offers sales, parts and service, will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. During the summer months, the store will be open from 7 to noon on Saturday.

The new store will open with eight employees but could add in the future. The Sikeston store has 30 employees.

Fabick Brothers, an authorized dealer for Caterpillar and more than 100 other complementary brands of equipment, serves the St. Louis metropolitan area, Southeast Missouri, Southern Illinois, and the Jefferson City and Wentzville areas.

Fabick Cos. has been in business more than 80 years.

It all started 80 years ago when John Fabick, then a livery stable operator, observed that America was moving away from the horse and buggy and into the machine age.

He opened an automobile dealership, Ideal Motor Co., in South St. Louis, which eventually led to Fabick Cos., which now has eight branches and a number of satellite facilities.
