EXTENSION COUNCIL ELECTIONS

Cape Girardeau County residents can now vote for members of the University Extension Council during the last part of January 1995. The ballot appears below. Ballots may be returned by mail, on or before Jan. 27 or brought to the Extension Center in Jackson. To complete a ballot vote for 12 of the nominees listed by placing an X in front of the nominee's name.

Council Members nominated and information about each candidate follows:

Elizabeth Aufdenberg: Burfordville. Currently serving on Extension Council, 15-year 4-H Leader, served on Farm Bureau Board two terms. Farms with husband Dennis, also employed for Jackson R-2 as School Cook at Primary Annex. Married, 3 Children.

Shirley Beggs: Cape Girardeau. Charter and 34-year member of Progressive Homemakers club, currently serving as historian/reporter. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid, treasurer Mo. Federation Council of Aid Association for Lutherans. President Otahki Girl Scout Council.

Scott Graham: Jackson. MFA Agri-Services manager. Certified Crop Advisor. Member of Chamber of Commerce and serving on Agriculture Committee. Supporter of 4-H and FFA Youth Programs.

Ronald Hopkins: Cape Girardeau. Member of Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club of Cape Girardeau, Area Wide United Way Board (1994 General Campaign Chairman), University of Missouri Leaders Honor Roll.

Susan Jahn: Jackson. Self-employed farming/excavating business. Currently serving on the Extension Council. Member of Cape County Pork Producers. Past member of New Trends in Agriculture Planning Committee. Member of Cape County Farm Bureau, member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Capital Bank Consulating Board member. Married, 2 children.

Mike Kasten: Jackson. Past President Missouri Cattlemen's Association, board of directors National Cattlemen's Assoc., board of directors Missouri Beef Industry Council, public affairs committee National Cattlemen's, Board of Directors for Kasten Masonry Sales, ALOT Class III, St. Andrew Lutheran Church Member, member of SEMO Cattlemen's Association.

James Lichtenegger: Jackson. Currently serving on Extension Council, vice president of Bank of Altenberg, treasurer St. John's Lutheran Church, Pocahontas. Family actively involved in Fruitland 4-H Club, small grass farmer. Married, three children.

Fred J. Margrabe: Jackson. Charter Member Explorer Post #311; Jackson VFW Post #10495; Altenthal-Joerns American Legion Post #158; former Committee Member for Boy Scout Troop #311; Order of the Arrow.

Rick Ostendorf: Cape Girardeau. 14 years as a 4-H Leader, 4-H Beef Superintendent for 8 years at SEMO Fair, Missouri Cattlemen's Association Member, Married, three children.

Mike Phifer: Cape Girardeau. Warehouse Team Manager, Havco. Member of Masonic Lodge. Interested in Farming.

Roland Sander: Gordonville. 4-H Youth Leader, Livestock Sale Committee - SEMO Fair, Member of Riverside Regional Library Board, current President, Basketball coach for B & C teams at St. Paul Lutheran School. Member Christ Lutheran Church, Boy Scout Counselor.

Danny E. Terry: Cape Girardeau. Professor and chair of Department of Agriculture, SEMO University. Coordinates programs involving international guests for Organization for Trade and Agribusiness Development and Center for Technology and Small Business Development. Recipient of Arkansas State University College of Ag. Outstanding Young Alumnus Award, April 1994. Rotary International Group Study Exchange Award. Studied in Bangladesh 1988.

David Joe Wessel: Gordonville. Currently serving on Extension Council. Self employed row-crop and Cattle Farmer. Married, 1 son. Member Zion Lutheran Church, Gordonville.

James "J.J." Williamson: Cape Girardeau. President of Professional Men's Club of Southeast Missouri, Grand Treasurer of St. Matthews Grand Lodge Af & Am State of Missouri. Councilman for city of Cape Girardeau and member of Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce.
