EXCHANGE CLUB NAMES YOUTH OF THE MONTH

SCOTT CITY -- Ralf Emerson, a senior at Scott City High School, has been chosen the January Youth-of-the-Month by the Exchange Club of Cape Girardeau.

Emerson is treasurer of the National Honor Society, a Student Council representative, president of Future Business Leaders of America, and a member of the Pep Club. He is also a member of the varsity track and basketball teams.

He is a recipient of the Danforth Award, was selected as the outstanding citizen at Boys' State, was selected to attend the state Hugh O`Brien Youth Leadership Conference, is on the A honor roll and is an Eagle Scout.

Emerson is a member of the FBLA Parliamentary Procedure Team, which placed second in state competition. He is the state champion in the 300 intermediate hurdles competition and was named to the all-conference and all-district basketball teams.

He is the son of David and Margo Emerson of Scott City.
