A former Scott City resident received the 1995 Arthur H. Mattingly Award in historic preservation.
The Historic Preservation Association of Southeast Missouri State University honored Richard L. Young at a banquet March 18 at Port Cape Girardeau's River City Yacht Club.
Young is director of the Fort Caspar Museum in Casper, Wyo.
Young's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Young of Scott City, accepted the award.
The award is given annually to a graduate of Southeast's historic preservation program. The award is named for Mattingly, professor emeritus of history at Southeast, who helped develop the preservation program.
