KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- A former member of the Hickman Mills school board and a Kansas City city employee has pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography.
Prosecutors say 55-year-old David R. Buie admitted Wednesday that he possessed the pornography in March 2008.
Buie is a lawyer and former administrator with the Kansas City Parks and Recreation Department. He was also a long-time member of the Metropolitan Community College Board of Trustees.
The U.S. Attorney's offices says that Buie was caught after a computer technician in the city's parks department found apparent child porn on Buie's work computer. Police say Buie's crimes did not involve the Hickman Mills school district or the district's computers.
He faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.
