Police are searching for a woman who allegedly robbed her ex-roommate Monday evening.
The robbery occurred around 8 p.m. in the 500 block of Bellevue Street when a female was unlocking her apartment door, according to Sgt. Jason Selzer of the Cape Girardeau Police Department. Her ex-roommate approached her but the victim asked her to leave.
The ex-roommate refused and forced the victim's purse out of her arms and onto the ground. The suspect took the victim's wallet and contents inside the purse.
The victim then followed the suspect onto a nearby street, where the two pushed and pulled each other's hair.
Selzer said the suspect's boyfriend broke up the altercation.
The suspect and her boyfriend then left the area in a vehicle with the victim's purse and wallet.
No one was injured in the incident. Selzer said no one is in custody at this time, though a warrant for second-degree robbery has not been issued for the ex-roommate.
