STE. GENEVIEVE Bastille Days and the Ste. Genevieve County Fair will draw crowds to Ste. Genevieve July 8-11.
The Bastille Days celebration will feature French music, movies, dance and food, a garden dinner theater at the Guilbourd-Valle House, and other special events, including a public "storming" of Ste. Genevieve's old jail.

Coon-dog treeing, a tricycle rodeo and a cow-chip lottery will be part of the attractions at this year's Ste. Genevieve County Fair.
The fair will be held July 9-11 at the County Fairgrounds north of town between Fourth and North Main streets.
There also will be carnival attractions, craft booths and an expanded pet and livestock display.
The Jackpot Horse Show will be held at 6:30 p.m. July 9.
A sand volleyball tournament will be held July 10 and 11, and at 7 p.m. July 10 there will be an antique tractor pull and ATV pull. A demolition derby begins at 6:30 p.m. July 11.
Other events for youngsters on Sunday afternoon are the Tricycle Rodeo at noon, followed by the Turtle Derby, Quarter Scramble and Greased Pig Contest. Successful pig-catchers get to keep the pig.
First prize in the cow-chip lottery, to be held at 1 p.m. July 10 and 11, is $400; second prize is $100.
