JACKSON -- The League of Women Voters of Cape Girardeau County will sponsor a meeting here Wednesday via satellite on a number of environmental matters.
The town meeting will address the Clean Water Act, Safe Drinking Water Act, reduction of pollution from agriculture, development of effective wellhead programs, and mobilization of citizens to protect their groundwater.
Six national and four local speakers will participate, and two toll-free numbers will be available for discussion with the national speakers.
The meeting is set for 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the University of Missouri Extension Center, 815 Highway 25 South. For more information call 334-6838.
