Entries are being accepted for the sixth annual Miss Riverfest competition. The June 11 pageant will be held in conjunction with Cape Girardeau's annual Riverfest celebration.
Scheduled June 11-12 in downtown Cape Girardeau, Riverfest features entertainment and activities for the entire family.
Miss Riverfest 1993 will reign over a special Bicentennial Parade and other activities June 12.
An informational meeting about the contest will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Cape Budget Inn in Cape Girardeau. Practice session for the competition will be announced later.
Miss Riverfest contestants will be judged on poise, personality, dress, speaking ability and a brief, on-stage interview.
To be eligible for Miss Riverfest competition, contestants must be high school students from Missouri or Illinois as of May 1. They must also be single, have no children and have a C grade average or above.

Cheryl Ellis, Riverfest T-shirt chairman, announced that commemorative Riverfest T-shirts are now available for sale. Company logos are available as a sleeve print, she added.
The shirts cost $6 or $7 for adults and $6 for children.
