ENTRIES ACCEPTED FOR REGIONAL JURIED ART SHOW

The SEMO Council on the Arts will accept entries for its annual Southeast Missouri Regional Juried Art Show Monday through Friday.

Entries may be mailed or hand delivered to Gallery 100 during the hours of 1-4 p.m.

The Regional Juried Art Show will be limited to work created by artists 18 years and older who reside within a 75-mile radius of Cape Girardeau.

Entries are to be two- or three-dimensional original and unpublished artwork, not previously exhibited in a Southeast Missouri Regional Juried show.

No photography will be accepted. Entries must be within the maximum limits of 30x40 inches, weigh no more than 75 pounds and fit through a normal door. Two-dimensional work must be framed and wired for hanging. No saw-tooth hangers are permitted.

Entry fees are $20 for up to three works and $7 for each additional work with no maximum cutoff. A triptych will count as two entries. Fees for members of the Southeast Missouri Council on the Arts are $15 for up to three entries.

Last year, 73 entries were submitted from 27 Missouri artists. The exhibit consisted of 42 works and over $400 was given in cash awards. This year the show is open to artists from Illinois and Kentucky who are within a 75-mile radius of Cape Girardeau.

The Southeast Missouri Regional Juried Art exhibit will be on display April 8-29 at Gallery 100's new location at 1707 Mt. Auburn Road in Cape Girardeau. An opening reception and awards presentation will take place on April 8 from 5-7 p.m. and will be open to the public.
