NOVEMBER 6 Emil C. Weis Lecture: The Southeast Missouri State University Department of Communication will present its annual Emil C. Weis lecture. This year's speaker is Cassandra McKeown, a political science professor at the University of South Dakota and former public defender. Lecture begins at 6 p.m. at Glenn Auditorium in Dempster Hall.

NOVEMBER 9-12 Disney on Ice: The Show Me Center will host Disney on Ice's "100 Years of Magic Tour." NOVEMBER 11 Patriots Ball: The Veterans Day Patriot Ball will be held at the A.C. Brase Arena Building in Cape, with music provided by the Jerry Ford Orchestra. The event starts at 6 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the Cape Girardeau Convention and Visitors Bureau.

NOVEMBER 11 Red House Interpretive Center: The Red House Interpretive Center will host its last children's book reading on the porch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

NOVEMBER 12 Community Counseling Center Foundation Antiques & Collectibles Show: Over 50 dealers from Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky and Tennessee will sell antiques and collectibles of all kinds at the A.C. NOVEMBER 18 Parents without Partners: Parents without Partners will host its monthly singles dance at the Cape Girardeau VFW Hall from 8 p.m. to midnight. The event is open to the public.
