* April 6-9, "Guys & Dolls" To close the season, the Department of Theatre will be giving it their all with the classic musical, "Guys and Dolls!" One of Broadway's most hilarious shows, "Guys and Dolls" is a bright musical fable whose charm hasn't been lost in its 50-plus years of popularity. Based on the book by Swerling and Burrows and with music and lyrics by Frank Loesser, this producation will be directed by Dr. Kenn Stilson, chair of the Department of Theatre and Dance

* April 8,9,15,16 "Harvey" A dinner show at Port Cape Girardeau's River Yacht Club. Mary Chase's well-loved, sentimental comedy about a man and his friend, a six foot, imaginary rabbit named Harvey , will be directed by Meredith Elfrink. Dinner shows are $24.95 per person. * April 10, Tye Dying: Groovy Greens & Mellow Yellows 4/10/05, Survivor's Rupert has made tye dying a hip new trend for both young and old. Get the "wrap" on tye dying through this fun, interactive workshop. Design two of your own psychedelic T-shirts using a mixture of tye-dying techniques and effects. Pre-registration is required.

* April 14, Workshop: Business Etiquette: More Than Just Using the Right Fork, In this interactive workshop topics covered will be basics such as: the art of introductions, body language in the business world, business etiquette and the social graces, small talk for smart and savvy people, and executive communications.

* April 15 4th Annual Community Benefit Wine Festival - Deerfield Lodge from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. Eight to ten wineries from Missouri give you a chance to try all the wines they have made. There will be plenty of food and live entertainment. This event is sponsored by the Community Counseling Center Foundation. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. * April 15-17 37th Annual Dogwood-Azalea Festival in Charleston , MO This is an annual event that will feature the "Pigs In The Garden BBQ contest." This contest is sanctioned by the Kansas City BBQ Society. There will be four categories of meat prepared and enough meat will be presented to six judges. Judges are certified by the Kansas City BBQ Society. If you would like to participate in this contest as a cook or learn to judge, please contact Dot or Lynn at 573-683-2458 for more information.

* April 17, The H.O. Grauel Lecture, Guest speaker Dr. Mary Ellen Lamb, Professor of English Renaissance Literature at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, will present "Fairies and Hobbyhorses: Rethinking Popular Culture in A Midsummer Night's Dream." Lamb received her Ph.D. from Columbia University and has published on Shakespeare and on early modern women writers in such journals as Shakespeare Quarterly, Shakespeare Survey, English Renaissance Studies, Review of English Studies, and Criticism.
