Bertice Berry, voted the 1992 Campus Entertainer of the Year by the National Association for Campus Activities, will make two appearances Tuesday at Southeast Missouri State University.
Berry, who uses humor to deal with such serious topics as racism and sexism, will present a free comedy show at noon in the University Center Club.
That will be followed by a lecture on bigotry at 8 p.m. in Academic Auditorium. Tickets for the lecture are $1 for university students and $2 for the public.
Berry, who has a doctorate degree in sociology, has appeared on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" and has been featured in the magazines Ebony, People and Essence.
She regularly contributes to the Chicago Tribune, writing on such topics as racism and Hollywood's depiction of violence against women.
