Kevin Snell, a communications specialists with LifeBeat, Southeast Missouri Hospital's air medical service, has been named Southern Illinois' "EMT of the Year."
Snell received the award from the McClure American Legion Post 900 for outstanding service to people of Illinois. In addition to his duties at Southeast Hospital, Snell services with the Alexander County Hospital Ambulance Service.
Snell, of East Cape Girardeau, Ill., is a graduate of Shawnee High School at Wolf Lake. He completed Emergency Medical Technologist (EMT) training in 1982 at Southeast Missouri Hospital. He was a full-time employee of the Alexander County Ambulance service three years.
