The Cape Area Family Resource Center and an army of local potters have come together to bring back the Empty Bowls project for the second year. Empty Bowls raises money for local food pantries by selling tickets to a soup dinner, this year taking place Nov. 4 at the Salvation Army in Cape Girardeau.

Tickets will be on sale tonight at First Friday receptions at Grace Cafe, Garden Gallery and the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri, and will remain on sale throughout the month. Tickets are available for a $10 minimum donation.

Last year the project raised $3,600 to fight hunger in the Southeast Missouri area.

Professional and amateur potters are creating 500 ceramic bowls for the event, which will be used to serve the soup dinner on Nov. 4.

For more information contact the Cape Area Family Resource Center at 334-8170.
