Heartland Antique Emporium will open in downtown Cape Girardeau Friday.
The antique and collectibles market, which will feature more than 23 dealers when it opens, is at 5 N. Main.
"We're opening the ground level of the building," said Greg Hahs, owner. "We have more than 13,000 square feet on the first floor; we have another 13,000 square feet upstairs, which will open in the future."
Hahs, who formerly operated Heartland Antique Mall at William and Sprigg, and his wife, Sharon, recently purchased the Main Street property. It formerly was the Rivertown Center mini-mall.
The building has been redecorated inside. Entrances to the business will be from Main and Spanish streets.
"We feel the new location will be a plus for the operation," said Hahs, who will close the Sprigg and William business Thursday. "It means a big expansion."
A number of new antique and collectibles dealers have leased space in the Emporium, as have 15 dealers from Heartland Mall.
"We have dealers who specialize in furniture, glass, paper memorabilia, old linens, primitives and more," said Hahs. "Antique buffs will find an appealing selection of many collectibles."
