EMPLOYEES AT VETS HOME GIVE BASKETS TO NEEDY FOR HOLIDAY

The newly-established Missouri Veterans Home Employee Committee sponsored a Thanksgiving food basket drive.

Employees donated canned goods, money, and frozen turkeys. Four baskets were put together and given to needy veterans and their families in the Jackson, Cape Girardeau and Lutesville areas.

The group secured names of needy veterans from the Job Service office and the Vietnam Veterans Support Group.

Roger Cotner serves as chairperson of the employee committee. Other officers are: Karen Schmitt, vice chairman; Jeanette Driscoll, secretary-treasurer, and Sylvia Cotner, reporter. Members include Pat Hodge, Pat Robbins, Kathy Bosco, Edna Walton, Vickie Steinnard, and Dottie Retherford.
