A. Clay Ancell, deputy director, programs production and operations of the Defense Mapping Agency Aerospace Centers, has been honored as outstanding federal employee in the "manager/executive" category by the St. Louis Federal Executive Board.
Ancell was cited for being directly responsible for the Aerospace Center's massive mapping, charting, and digital data support to Operation Desert Storm.
Ancell, a native of Sikeston, is married to the former Kay Margraf, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Margraf of Cape Girardeau.
Ancell has worked for the Defense Mapping Agency 25 years.
He is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University and received his masters' degree from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville.
