EMERSON WILL SPEAK AT BANQUET FOR SOIL UNIT

ORAN, Mo. -- The Scott County Soil and Water Conservation District will sponsor its annual meeting at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 20 at the Oran Knights of Columbus Hall.

The guest speaker will be U.S. Rep. Jo Ann Emerson, who will give an update on agriculture issues.

This year's dinner will be fried catfish with all the fixings.

Tickets for the dinner are $7 and are available by contacting the district office at 545-3593, ext. 101, or by contacting a Scott County Soil and Water District board member.

The board members are John Byrd, Bill Holmes, Kevin Holt, Ken Westrich and Warren Cork.

There will be door prizes offered.

Those planning to attend should make reservations by Tuesday.
