JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- The Missouri Right to Life Political Action Committee on Tuesday announced it is endorsing Jo Ann Emerson in her bid for re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives from Missouri's 8th Congressional District. Pam Fichter, president of the organization, touted what she called Emerson's "100 percent voting record" for the last two years. "It is a true honor to again receive the support of Missouri Right to Life and its thousands of members," Emerson said in a statement. The release said Emerson continues to work in Congress to restrict the use of federal funds to provide for abortions. Most recently, Emerson opposed the Food and Drug Administration's approval of a new drug, "Ella," that terminates a pregnancy up to 72 hours after conception.
