The East Missouri Action Agency (EMAA) has $500,000 available statewide for its summer crisis assistance program. Funds will be made available to provide cooling assistance for those households most vulnerable to the soaring temperatures.

About $22,500 will be used to help low income persons with their electrical services when a shut-off notice has been given. Priority will go to the elderly and handicapped.

The EMAA will also continued its fan and air conditioner loan program this summer.
