Police and firefighters responded to at least three calls reporting a shooting in the area Monday night. Battalion Chief Fred Vincel said firefighters were prepared to bring the victim to the hospital but learned shortly after arriving on the scene that he'd been taken in a private car to the hospital.

Selzer believes the suspect, who fled the scene, may have been on foot. Police do not know the identity of the suspect at this time.
