Cape Girardeau Elk's Lodge 639 has named its students of the month for November. Ryan Mattes, 18, is the Notre Dame High School student of the month. Brandy Bridwell, 18, is the Scott City High School student of the month. Brandy is the daughter of Rulen and Debbie Knox of Scott City. Brandy is a member of Future Teachers of America, Future Homemakers of America, Future Business Leaders of America, science club, pep club, Model U.N., key club and National Honor Society. After graduation, she plans to attend Southeast Missouri State University as an elementary education major.

Allison Brune, 17, is the Cape Girardeau Central High School student of the month. Allison is a member of National Honor Society and Future Homemakers of America. She is also a football, volleyball and basketball cheerleader. She has been featured in Who's Who Among American High School Students and has been recognized as an All-American cheerleader and the National Cheerleading Association's Top Gun Dancer. Allison has also been awarded the Martin Luther King writing award. After graduation, she plans to get a degree in broadcast journalism.
