PERRYVILLE -- The Elks Mobile Dental Unit will be in Perryville from July 12-29, at the Perryville Elks Lodge, 921 N. Perryville Blvd.
The mobile unit is now in its 31st year of providing dental services to deserving residents of Missouri.
The unit has been operated by the Dental Department of Truman Medical Center-East of Kansas City since 1962, in partnership with Missouri and the Missouri Elks Benevolent Association.
Purpose of the program is to deliver primary care dental services to the handicapped and crippled children as well as mentally retarded and developmentally disabled children and adults throughout the state.
The unit is a bus-like vehicle equipped to provide a full range of dental services. All services are provided at no cost to eligible patients. The unit is staffed by a dentist and dental assistant.
