MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- In Bollinger County's only contested county primary elections, Travis Elfrink defeated two Republican contenders for the nomination to run in November for presiding commissioner, and Jeaneal Vandeven swept through three Republican opponents to run for circuit clerk.

In November, Elfrink will face Democrat candidate Kenny Trentham. Vandeven will face Democrat challenger Cindy Yount.

Unofficial totals from the Bollinger County clerk's office Tuesday night showed Elfrink winning 866 votes, or 46 percent. Al Cantrell Sr. followed with 528 votes, and Eddie Eaker gathered 477 votes.

In the clerk's race, Vandeven won 916 votes, or 48 percent. Tina Broshuis-Nenninger followed with 634, Al Zimmer with 196 and Lindsey Davis Petton with 147.

A number of incumbents are unopposed -- County Clerk Diane Holzum, Recorder Dana Fulbright, Treasurer Naomi Null, Prosecuting Attorney Stephen Gray, Judge Scott Thomsen and Collector Bob Anderson is unopposed.

In ballot issues, the statewide Prop C vote was defeated in Bollinger County 1,884 to 493.

The Marble Hill half-cent sales tax won 181 to 90.

The Meadow Heights School District vote failed with a vote of 273 yes votes and 481 no votes.
