An election to select a member of the governing board of the East Missouri Action Agency to represent the lower-income residents of Cape Girardeau will be held Aug. 12-30 at the EMAA office, 1301 N. Kingshighway.
Low-income residents of Cape Girardeau county, qualified either by conformity to the poverty guidelines established by the OMB or by being a participant in any of the programs operated by the EMAA, may participate.
These programs include Head Start, Weatherization, HUD Housing, Family Planning, Work Experience Programs, Energy Assistance, Commodity Programs and others.
Nominations will be accepted through Friday. Any low-income resident may pick up a nomination form from the local EMAA Outreach office.
