Tuesday's brief ballot ultimately correlated to a minimal election turnout in each of the three communities with measures at stake.
Cape Girardeau County Clerk Kara Clark Summers estimated an 8 percent to 10 percent turnout overall, which turned out to be slightly higher than the 7.42 percent reported by her office in Tuesday night's unofficial results.
Cape Girardeau, Jackson and Delta each had one question on the ballot. The three communities combined managed to attract fewer than 2,500 voters.
In Cape Girardeau, 1,553 showed up to cast votes for the renewal of a half-cent transportation sales tax, also known as the Transportation Trust Fund.
Each of the city's precincts reported turnout of under 10 percent.
The total number of people to vote on Jackson's proposed water bond issue was 901, a turnout of slightly higher than 7 percent.
The city of Delta had 35 of 299 registered voters cast ballots regarding whether it would forgo municipal elections when the number of candidates filing for office was equal to the number of positions to be filled by that office.
