Cape Girardeau County Clerk Rodney Miller and other election officials from all over the state will be in Jefferson City Sunday through Tuesday for the Missouri Election Authorities Conference.
Conducted by Secretary of State Rebecca McDowell Cook, the conference is held every other year to familiarize election officers with changes in laws and procedures.
Miller said the conferences are invaluable because of the updated information provided at them. He said this one would deal with new voting legislation, including the National Voter Registration Act.
Two nationally known figures will participate in the conference: Minnesota Secretary of State Joan Anderson Grove, who successfully promoted voter turnout in her home state; and Dr. Sandy Horwitt, project director of the People for the American Way First Vote Program.
