Nominations are being accepted for the third annual Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce Educator of the Year awards.
The educator awards, presented by the chamber's Education Committee, are designed to focus attention on excellence in education. Awards will be presented in four categories -- elementary, secondary, vocational-technical and administration.
Any full-time educator in a public, private or business school in the Cape Girardeau city limits may be a candidate. School personnel whose duties are primarily administrative or supervisory (principals, guidance counselors, librarians) are eligible in the administration category.
Educators may be nominated in writing by any person, group, colleague, student or parent. Nominations must be received at the chamber office by Dec. 15. Winners will be announced April 12.
Kathy Swan is chairman of the chamber's education committee. Additional information is available by calling Swan, 335-5555.
