Three area educators will lead a discussion Thursday at the meeting of the League of Women Voters of Cape Girardeau County.
Speakers will be Judy Bone, high school counselor, Scott City public schools; Neyland Clark, superintendent, Cape Girardeau public schools; and Wayne Maupin, superintendent, Jackson public schools.
Kim Bowers, league education chairperson, said the topic will be "Local Public Education and the Challenges/Opportunities of the Future." Among issues are safety, funding, and school bonds.
As always, the meeting is open to the public. Those who wish may gather for dinner at 6 p.m.; the program and business session will begin at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held at Mr. B's Deli in the Crossroads Shopping Center.
