Economist and syndicated columnist Walter Williams will be in Cape Girardeau today for a lecture and reception sponsored by the Southeast Missourian.
Williams will discuss economic issues in the Academic Auditorium of Southeast Missouri State University at 4 p.m.
A free public reception hosted by the university's Department of Economics will be at 5:30 p.m. in the University Center on campus.
Williams serves on the faculty at George Mason University in Fairfax, Va., as chairman of the economics department. He also is the author of seventy publications, including five books. His weekly syndicated columns can be seen in 125 newspapers around the country.
Williams' lecture is sponsored by the university, Student Activities Council, Residence Hall Association, provost office, Young America's Foundation, College Republicans and KZIM radio.
Free tickets for the lecture are available at the Southeast Missourian or can be purchased at the door for $5.
