EAST PRAIRIE -- The 1999 East Prairie Junior Miss and Miss Fourth of July pageants have been set for 7 p.m. Thursday at the East Prairie High School auditorium.

Contestants may compete in either the Junior Miss 13-15 (Sunday Dress) or Miss 16-19 (Formal Attire) divisions. The contests are open to youths in the age divisions who reside in all of the surrounding areas.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., with a slight admission charge. Children under age 2 will be admitted free. Entertainment for the pageant will be provided by members of the Southeast Area Twirlers and the East Prairie junior and senior high Auxiliaries.

Entry fees must be paid, along with submission of a completed entry form, to Contest Director Kandi K. Barksdale. The address is 4890 West Highway 80, East Prairie, Mo. 63845. For more information, call Barksdale at 649-2702 or call Jean Barksdale at 649-2479.

Entry forms may be obtained at East Prairie, Cape Girardeau, Sikeston, Jackson, Charleston, Dexter and New Madrid businesses.
