NEW MADRID, Mo. -- An East Prairie, Mo., resident was stabbed in an altercation late Saturday night.
According to New Madrid County Sheriff Terry Stevens, Randy Woods Jr., 19, received a stab wound to the chest during an altercation involving several teens. As of Sunday, Woods was listed in serious but stable condition, the sheriff said.
Deputies with the New Madrid County Sheriff's Department were notified of the incident just before midnight Saturday with officers responding to the scene near the intersection of Routes P and BB at 12:14 a.m. Sunday.
The sheriff said the weapon was recovered and several persons were interviewed in connection with the incident. No one is in custody at this time, Stevens reported.
