EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- An East Prairie man was killed in an ATV accident that occurred about noon Thursday just south of East Prairie.
Billy R. Hatton, 48, was traveling south on County Road 527 when his ATV ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The vehicle overturned, and Hatton was ejected.

He was transported by ambulance to Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri, where he was pronounced dead at 1:06 p.m.
This is the 26th fatality for Troop E this year.
