ALTENBURG -- The East Perry Community Fair has been called "The Best Little Fair in the Land." It's scheduled this year for Sept. 25 and 26 in Altenburg.

The fair officially opens with a traditional parade through the streets of Altenburg at 1 p.m. on Sept. 25.

Other events that day include a 4-H/FFA show at 9 a.m., a kiddie tractor pull using pedal tractors at 3 p.m., musical entertainment by The Runaways at 6 p.m. and an antique tractor pull at 6:30.

Events on the second day of the fair include livestock and horse judging, a country dance at noon, a mule jumping competition at 5:30 p.m. and music by Contempo at 6:30. Attendance prizes will also be awarded on the second night of the fair.

There are no parking or admission fees, and all entertainment is free. The fairgrounds are located on Church Street south of Highway A in Altenburg.
