The local Sierra group will hold a planning meeting for Earth Day 1995 at 7 p.m. Monday at Cape Girardeau Public Library.

Slated for April, Earth Day is in its 25th year. Local Sierra chairwoman Kathy Conway said the organization will schedule several activities to remind Southeast Missouri residents about the need to protect air, water and endangered species.

~~"Five years ago we Southeast Missourians joined Americans across the nation to rededicate ourselves to managing the planet in such a way that our children will thank us rather than blame us," Conway said. ~"Now it is time to consider if we have made progress toward our goal of protecting our environment."
