Early morning wrecks slow access to William Street, Kingshighway

Two motor vehicle accidents made for a slow morning commute for some in Cape Girardeau.

The first wreck occurred around 7:50 a.m. at William Street and Interstate 55, which partially blocked the southbound exit ramp with access to William. Southbound traffic on the interstate was not affected. Traffic was redirected, but vehicles were backed up on the southbound exit ramp at exit 96. No injuries were reported.

Another wreck was reported at around 8:40 a.m. at 1020 N. Kingshighway in Cape Girardeau. Two people were treated for injuries, though their severity was not known.
