A Frohna, Mo., man has been charged with driving while intoxicated after his car was struck by a train near Wittenberg early Thursday morning.

The Perry County Sheriff's Office said in a news release that Glen Weber, 30, was the car's driver and was not injured.

The sheriff's office received a call from the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad concerning the accident around 1:50 a.m.

Sheriff's deputies and the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the call and took Weber into custody, according to the release.

Weber's car traveled off the roadway into a ditch, partially blocking the northbound tracks, according to the highway patrol crash report. Weber exited the vehicle several minutes before the train struck the car, according to the report.
