DUQUOIN, Ill. -- Tickets for the DuQuoin State Fair grandstand entertainment are on sale.
"I am very excited about our entertainment line-up this year," said Ron Summers, fair manager. "We have a wide variety of entertainers that will appeal to all ages."
A free gospel show featuring The Kingsmen, J.D. Sumner & The Stamps, and gold City will kick off the 1992 grandstand entertainment on preview night, Aug. 31. There will be free admission and free parking that night.
Country music will highlight the fair. Tanya Tucker and Marty Stuart will perform Sept. 1. Sawyer Brown and T. Graham Brown will perform Sept. 3. Miller Lite will present Wynonna Judd with McBride and the Ride on Sept. 5.
Nickelodeon's supper sloppy "Double Dare" will bring their children's show to the fair Sept. 4.
The Everly Brothers will perform Sept. 6.
The World Trotting Derby will be held Sept. 5, beginning at 1 p.m. And the ARCA stock car and the USAC dirt car races will close out the grandstand's afternoon entertainment Sept. 6 and 7. Time trials begin at 11 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. respectively.
